It's all about intoxication, whether by love, wine, dope, happiness, power, the taste of flowing blood…. Let your imagination run riot - any intoxication is good. And if the intoxication leads to hot, heady sex, all the better.
The rules for stories:
There's no word limit - it can be a drabble, a poem, an epic story or anything in between.
This is a panfandom challenge, so stories from any and all fandoms are welcome. However, any real person fiction stories entered will not be archived here, although a link will be provided to a site where they can be found.
No genre limitations - het, slash or gen are all fine.
The story must contain intoxication of some sort, whether literal or figurative.
The words blood and wine must both be included in the story, but in any way you chose.
I'll provide each entrant to the challenge with a quotation or phrase. This can be incorporated into the story word for word, paraphrased, used as inspiration or in the title, or totally ignored!
The rules for art:
The art produced can be of any type - from live journal icons to wallpapers, manips or sketches. I do however ask that the version sent for archiving is no bigger than 1024 x 768 pixels, and that the file size isn't greater than 1 MB (preferably much less). Icons should be within live journal specifications, i.e. no more than 40KB and 100 x 100 pixels. Please say if you're willing for the icons to be used by others or not. Accepted file types are .jpg, .bmp (not for icons), .gif and .png.
Any fandom, with one proviso. If the art is of actors/singers rather than characters, I'll use my judgment about archiving it. For example, if it is a graphic picture of two actors involving any sexual act, I will only link to the art rather than archiving it.
No genre or pairing limitations - het, slash or gen are all fine, as are individuals, pairs, threesomes, etc.
The art must contain reference to, or implication of, intoxication of some sort, whether literal or figurative.
The art must include some reference to either blood or wine, even if it's just a case of using those shades in the colouring.
I'll provide each artist with a quotation or phrase. This can be used as a caption, in full or in part, as a title, as inspiration, or not at all!
General rules for both stories and art:
I will automatically archive each story and piece of art in the challenge. If you don't want your story or art archiving, please let me know.
There is no limit to the number of entries per person. However, only one quote/phrase will be issued per person.
Deadline: 31 January 2004.
